Swimming near Tinos

Mission Bakery

Obviously, my first mission most mornings involved finding a delcious bakery. Since these villages were dots on a map, TripAdvisor, Yelp, and google are not that helpful. It took a lot of walking to usually find our bakery. Thankfully, we were usually very sucessful!!

Our Sail

Today, our sailing was very short as Mykonos did not have enough berths for us, so we had to opt for Tinos, north of Mykonos. Regardless, the sail was really short for both options so Captain decided to make it a very fun swimming and then docking day. Captain said swimming very funny so we often began the mornings asking if we were swimming today!
For today, our sailing was eceptionally smooth. We started at a prompt 10am and I swear the water was so smooth that we could have skiied on it!! Safe to say we could get use to this sailing business….

Swimming

Slowly, our captain relaised allwe wanted to do was sail, sunbathe, swim, or relax in the new islands. We did not really go out, but we definitely enjoyed our food and wine. Then again, we are not hard to figure out!
Captain took us to a tiny island off Mykonos for the morning. The water was crystal clear blue and we were one of the few boats in the area. It was wonderful. The pictures do not do justice!! For this reason, among many others, is why we decided to rent a yacht and sail the islands rather than use the ferries as we could swim randomly and enjoy the hidden parts of Cyclades.
We stayed there for a few hours before we had to go to Tinos. The Captain received a phone call that the marina was filling up so off we went!

Tinos

According to the Captain, Tinos was a nomad town, one that did not have a lot of activity for locals. It seemed like a cool town for us as he immediately recommended a bakery and coffee shop!
Since we failed miserably to adequately provision the boat, we were starving. Once we landed in Tinos, we invited the poor hungry Captain to our late lunch or early dinner. Captain obviously recommended a great restaurant called To Koutouki tis Elenis. Yes, that is a real name!
We ordered a giant feast! Between Mary Frances and I, we ordered a greek salad (or just a salad), tzaiki, and a wonderful lamb roast.
Captain offered to take us out on the town if we could make it until 9pm. Sadly, half the group could not make it so Kathryn and sarah held it over our heads the next morning that we missed out on an amazing experience… Oh well! We rested after a long fun day in the sun!
Unfortunately, I left my phone on the phone so I wasn't able to capture most of the beautiful island. It now has been captured in our hearts and memories!
