Sailing to Sifnos

Pretty Paros

On a spectacular morning, Nick and I woke up early and decided to explore this little city. I had located a few great breakfast and brunch places and we both wanted a good breakfast! We ended at Cafe Distracto as it was the only place open that early.

The cafe was covered by a tree and we were the only people at the cafe. It was a nice break from little baked goods and to enjoy a sit down breakfast! I ordered a ham croissant that was really tasty with a coffee.

On our way back to the boat, we had a great walk through town and then along the sea. We walked to the church with had an amazing views of the coast line. As we walked back on the coast, we stopped and did a little shopping too! We also stopped at the bakery for a few sweets!

Paros to Sifnos Sail

As these islands are very close to each other, we had a very easy, quick, and chill sailing day. We definitely take advantage and I do not think there is anything better than sitting on the deck watching the waves and the sail. For us, each day was precious as the days are winding down rather quickly.

Once we arrived in Sifnos, we scored a great spot! According to Captain, this location is much desired as it is the “relaxing” part of the island and usually less than 10 boats are allowed to dock in the marina. Certainly, we were lucky! To make it even better, Mary Frances even pitched in to help us dock!

Sifnos

This beach was amazing. The island has a very calm sea and the sand very soft and sandy. Our captain enjoyed his coffee, while most of us enjoyed the sand and surf. Similar to the other beaches, the weather was baking so we definitely had to take breaks. Luckily, Nick is tired of laying around so we always had a place to chill at a cafe.

The town is definitely one of the more picturesque villages. As I wandered the beach area, this village is hard to get to as another would have to drive or take a long bus. We are very lucky to stay here!

Dinner

Captain took us to one of his favorite restaurants tonight. He appears to know everyone and everything about every island. Only in Mykonos did he seem a little lonely, but he was still always hanging out at a cafe. What a chap!
For dinner, MF and I split the local dish which was similar to lasagna. It was quite tasty! I think the real winners were Captain and Kathryn as they ordered the lamb. One can never go wrong with lamb! Our meals are always entertaining and very cheap. Thankfully we all get along so we just have plenty of laughs!
