Never Leaving Naiharn

For our final day in Phuket, we finally determined our plans - which included never leaving Naiharn!

Breakfast of Champions

Because we had been very active, we decided to spend the morning relaxing and taking our time. Especially not at 4am! Rather, we preferred to see the beach and islands at a normal human time!

In addition to our general holiday mood, we decided to finally figure out our plans! At this time, we had heard from our elephant tour and we HAD to be in Chiang Mai by Thursday. Therefore, we decided to rebook our flights and other activities… Thankfully, our flight was still cheap despite departing the next evening and we found another island tour for the following day.

Adventure World

Sadly, our favorite company was sold out for the James Bond Island tour so we had to result to the second best company, Siam Adventure World, in the area, at least according to our research. While there would be more people on this tour, it still began at 630am and offered to get to the various locations as the second boat to arrive! They literally advertised this fact!

As for our adventure today, we decided to keep it local and explore our area as we would be busy the following day. We would have to explore as much as possible as we would get back from our tour around 4pm! This would be perfect before our flight at 8pm to Chiang Mai.

Pool versus Beach

Since we were very lazy, we “stopped for a minute” at the pool and ended up staying there… well, all day! While the beach certainly has its appeals, the pool held more advantages. First, it was very private. We were one of the few people there! Second, we had shaded areas if we so chose. Next, there was a pool without any sand! Finally, there was cheap food and drinks! Safe to say, we enjoyed our decision!

Sunset Views - Reasons to never leave Naiharn

As the evening approached, we did the classic Naiharn tradition - sunset and Thai Lagoon. Fine, it was our tradition but that is what happens on holidays! We walked back to the Naiharn beach and soaked in the beautiful sunset rays. Similar to the other evening, the beach was surprisingly empty and we felt like true locals. The sunsets are truly remarkable here and I see why people flock to Thailand. Everything is amazing!

One Last Time

For one last time, we went to our one and only local hangout spot - Thai Lagoon. Similar to the other night, we were one for the few folks at the restaurant. I think the family even recognized us! Similar to last time, we knew that we could eat a king’s feast for cheap so I let Mary Frances order whatever her little heart desired! Also, mine because i love Thai food!
For our starters, we again had the fresh veggie egg rolls and a very large beer. MF stuck with our pad thai while I branched out to the thai green curry. Both were excellent choices! We really enjoyed it! Lastly, I splurged on my favorite mango sticky rice! Yum Yum in my tum!

The Beach Finale

As mentioned yesterday, we finally were able to watch the Beach. I forgot to mention that we fell asleep pretty early on in the movie… Therefore, on our final night in Phuket, we finished The Beach. Boy, were we happy see the end! We really did not see the hype...
